Life of Dyes

Life of Dyes

Hi y’all. You might have noticed the new tab on the site, might not have. I’ve been considering it for a bit now, but Life of Dyes will be a little more of the personal side to our lives outside of the traveling and food. Read, don’t read it. It’s up to you.

We live in a day and age where online personalities are this symbol of perfection. We look at them like they have it all. They go where we haven’t, eat what we’re not able to, and just live these perfect lives. It’s a crock of utter shit. Life is messy and hard but also wholesome and amazing. You just have to find those fine lines. Which is where Life of Dyes started. I get a lot of people who tell me “man I wish I was able to be like you and be on the go all the time!” Yeah, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. It can be exhausting.

Life is a constant struggle for me as I deal with severe depression and anxiety. It’s not always fun. There’s a lot of self doubt involved, but it’s also something I’ve been working hard on for the past five or six months. If you’ve been keeping up, I left a toxic job in September of last year and have really been on this journey of learning how to put myself first. By October, I had enough with excuses as to why I was so overweight and unhealthy. I started pushing myself to walk more, work out, and just eat a little better. So far I’ve lost thirty-three pounds. As hard as it is for me to say out loud, I’m really proud of myself. Don’t worry though, I haven’t given up all the delicious food. It just comes in moderation. I’ve never understood the people who feel guilty about eating a cookie. Life’s too short to give it all up, y’all.

So, if you’re up for some more personal content and down to earth “the hell are we doing, being an adults sucks,” then stick around and look out for Life of Dyes updates. They won’t all be Debbie Downers though, I’ll definitely have the victories in there too. Like our gorgeous new home that I’m absolutely in love with. I can’t wait to share it with y’all once we’ve gotten everything settled and organized.

2020 is going to be such a huge year for us and I really look forward to the adventures to come. We’ve got Charlotte in May, Colorado in June, and maybe Boston in the fall? (My apologies to all you Veggie Tales fans who now have that song stuck in your head.) So keep an eye out as you all know we love to throw in random trips and watch my Instagram for updates! As usual, travel well and travel often.
